Responsibilities: I worked my way from cashier to Co-General Manager in about a year. I hired/fired/trained employees. I was responsible for the cash safe, registers, bank deposits, scheduling, product ordering and all other operational tasks. You get the idea so I won't bore you with further details. I was also the photographer and webmaster for the Antique Car Shows we hosted on our property for several years, see: Po-Boy's Cruise In @ KFC
Reason for leaving: The franchise owner had a stroke and his kids took over. They were clueless about the business and replace the District Manager and started changing how we operated. Our store was the highest grossing revenue store in the franchise. Our full buffet sold over 1,200 buffets per week EVERY WEEK. They came in and stopped us from varying our menu which is what brought in repeat customers who came for different foods each day (in addition to the KFC staples: chicken, mac & cheese, cole slaw, mashed potatoes). They made us ONLY put the staples on the buffet which killed our 1,200+ buffet business to 500- in just 3 weeks. No one wants to eat the same thing every day. They forced similar changes to the other stores too. When the sales dropped all across the franchise they started replacing the managers with new ones that were family friends and ass kissers. I quit before they got around to me.
