Responsibilities: I was hired to create a quality control department. The company had outgrown its ability to keep track of product quality at the production line. My job was to create sampling, testing, computerized result recording, trend tracking procedures and acceptable standards methodology. When the products were outside of acceptable standards the final decision of whether to ship or destroy the defective product was mine. Once the department was up and running my creative abilities earned me the opportunity to assist in the Research and Development department. In this capacity I assisted in the creation of (and was named on the resulting patent application) of an osmotic-driven food rehydration and water sterilization device and procedure intended for the U.S. Army. My knowledge of the products and previous sales/management
experience later resulted in my opportunity to be promoted to Sales Manager. Reason
for leaving: The company
ran out of money and was forced to give up self control in return for
operating capital. The new
CEO's restructuring process left us without product or prices for months
and a Sales Manager without products to sell cannot make money. The
company went bankrupt within the next 12 months. |
